Final Presentation of the GRM On-site Training Program

On September 3, 2025, the final presentation of the GRM On-site Training Program was held at Shikokan, Karasuma Campus.

Participants—students and professionals—who took part in the fieldwork conducted in Belgium and the Netherlands from August 17 to 24, presented their findings in three interdisciplinary groups.

The participants collaborated across disciplines and backgrounds—humanities and sciences, students and working professionals—to address environmental issues from diverse perspectives, including government, industry, academia, and civil society.
During the fieldwork, they gained multifaceted insights through experiences such as visiting EU policy-making institutions, touring Daikin Europe’s manufacturing site, exploring examples of carbon-neutral living, studying advanced urban design practices, and attending university lectures and workshops.
Each group visualized causal relationships and feedback loops related to urban sustainability, revealing that solving environmental challenges requires not just a single viewpoint but multiple approaches and cross-sector collaboration.

Their presentations offered concrete proposals for building a sustainable society and demonstrated the potential of interdisciplinary cooperation.
Representatives from Daikin Industries Technology and Innovation Center (TIC) and the GRM Program coordinator also participated in the final presentation to share the outcomes. We sincerely thank all those who supported the program from its planning stages, making this year’s training a meaningful and fruitful experience.
