Outline:
In recent years, both Japan and England have experienced rapid shifts when it comes to their policy outlook with regards to foreigners residing within their border. While England has thus far incorporated many immigrants into its society, questions have arisen with regards to their approach in a post-Brexit environment. On the other hand, Japan has created institutions to support an ever-increasing number of foreign workers under the new “Specified Skills Worker” visa category, launched in 2019.

Both countries continue to accept immigrants to support domestic labor demands, and they play a crucial role in maintaining their economies and societies. On the other hand, the political backlash against immigration, and a potential tightening of immigration policy, remain bottlenecks that these countries share as well.

We look forward to seeing you.
